In today’s society, more and more teens, young adults, and children are being influenced by celebrities. Celebrities can influence one’s wardrobe, hobbies, and even what they eat. In the article "Kids Finally Speak on Celebrity-Based Ads for Food and Beverages," the authors discuss children's and teens' reactions to celebrity-endorsed food and beverage commercials. They have concluded that the youth of America is largely influenced by celebrities. Some are concerned that the celebrities should not be such an influence on children. However, celebrities should be allowed to advertise products to children and teens because it builds a products awareness, advertising is good for a company, and although celebrities have influence, they are not forcing children to buy or want any certain product. As some critics may believe that celebrities drill bad ideas and wrongful advertisements into children, in many cases celebrites build awareness for a product and its brand. …show more content…
A company’s only way to make money is to sell their product. If that means having an influential person advertising the product, what is the big deal? Due to the fact that America is so innovate, one is introduced to a new and helpful product everyday. New users means that a company could be helping someone out in the world, or someone is simply enjoying their product. Having celebrities spreading the word about a product is in no way harmful. Another way that celebrities advertising for a company is infact good is how a product is positioned. Celebrities can help or enhance how customers see a company and its product. For example, if a child saw a commercial for a Buick, they might conclude that a Buick is an “old person’s car”.
