What Is Gun Safety In Schools Essay

Gun laws fill enormous gaps that exist in our nation’s federal laws and also help reduce gun violence and keep the citizens safe. Most of the countries that with the strongest gun laws have the lowest gun death rate. The mass shooting in schools in America is done by kids having control over guns. Diane Dimond, a reporter and journalist who published the article “Kids and Guns and Public Safety” argues that to prevent future mass shootings, gun owners need to take personal responsibility. Diane makes a point that “We were going target shooting with a real gun guided every step of the way in gun safety. Always keep a gun point toward the ground until you are ready to shoot” (qtd. in Dimond 177). She gives an opposing view that schools should have an armed guard and also a metal detector to every entrance. If these guards are hired in the schools, it would cost too much of money. She connects with the audience, provide good evidence and also give some concrete solution for the mass shooting in the school. But she didn’t give enough solution. Some people blame the parents for kids having gun. When we keep blaming them, it won’t solve the problem. We need to stop kids from watching movies and games that having shooting in them and also show love for those who are dying by contributing towards the end of gun violence. If the law is on front the battle against the gun violence, we need to raise our voice in support of guns laws, serious steps should be taken and justice should be served. Also having a metal detector and an armed guard in schools won’t stop kids from learning. It will save the lives of students and staff. The kids will go to school without fear of murder and injury.
