Kiddush Cup Descriptive Writing

I turned back and saw a 150-year-old Kiddush cup broken into a 150 pieces. My soul felt cold and dark as if I had just killed someone. Every sound was muffled and everything bright was dimmed. The once luminous windows were now empty holes. The sound of the phone now sounds like a crying moan. I stood there with my legs cemented to the ground and my eyes hooked on the remnants of the cup. I wanted to cry, but my body wanted me to feel this sense of emptiness and sorrow for as long as possible. Once I broke the spell of darkness, the creaking sound of the front door enters the room. A fully intact globe rested against the wall, on it’s side, looking worn out, next to a trashcan that filled with papers. I feared for my life, not only because of the damnable structure, but because of shadows that keep catching my eye. I would catch a glimpse of something, only to find nothing there. Above the door, the abandoned, impaired clock no longer ticked, and it had probably been decades since it last made a noise. “Why am I here?”…

The Antique Urn Parked outside Delaware's house, I honk the horn of my car for the third time. That girl is never ready and I’m never patient enough. Finally, she gets out of her house struggling to figure out what to do with the long sleeved plaid shirt her mother had probably forced upon her. Stilling struggling to decide whether she should wear the shirt on her black crop top to satisfy her mother or tie it around her waist and say hell to modesty I honked for a fourth time just to hurry things up. She jogs towards my car, enters the passenger sit, slams the door and throws her plaid shirt to the backseat.…

Since a young age, I have always been a tremendously curious child. The passionate goal that I held as a four year old was to find out the truth behind the cold temperature of the refrigerator and when I had turned seven, I was fascinated by gravity. One of the notions I firmly believed was that if you beat your arms in the air like a bird, you would be able to fly. However, only when I had jumped off the family couch, I realized the truth and that my notion was a mere “delusion”.…
