Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi is better known by his stage name Kid Cudi. Cudi was first recognized for making a mixtape called A Kid Named Cudi. This caught the attention of a rapper Kanye West who subsequently signed Scott to his GOOD Music label in late 2008. Since then Kid Cudi has launched his own record label called, Dream On, Mescudi has added a singer, songwriter, record producer, guitarist, music video director and film composer to his music labels.

Cudi’s father's passing had a significant effect on Cudi's personality and Cudi’s songs. Cudi attended Shaker Heights High School for two years before transferring to Solon High School. He was expelled from the school for threatening to punch his principal and would later earn his GED. Cudi studied film at the university of Toledo. Dropping out a year later, Cudi was determined to join the US Navy but was later denied for his juvenile police record.

Cudi started to rap after his high school career inspired by Alternative Hip Pop groups such as The Pharcyde and A Tribe Called Quest. Cudi moved to New York to pursue a music career. Shortly after Cudi moved to New York a Bape store opened up. Cudi later applied for a job. After two to three weeks Cudi had fallen in love with their style of clothing. While working at Bape Cudi met Kanye west for the first time after forgetting to remove an anti-theft device on a piece of clothing that Kanye had purchased. Cudi’s uncle later kicked him out, leading to his song Day ‘n’ night.

In July 2008, Cudi released his first mixtape A Kid Named Cudi. This mixtape caught the attention of Kanye West and a manager Plain Pat. Kid Cudi has created eight albums and has won four awards. He also is a regular on Comedy Bang Bang where Cudi replaced Reggie Watts, and was a guest on How To Make It In America. Cudi is great because he puts his heart into his
