Kickball Reflection

Decent Essays
When I began my first year of kickball, I wasn’t athletic, I had asthma and I didn’t have much of an idea of how to play. Slowly but surely, every practice, I would learn more and more about how the game functioned. My first year wasn’t great, none of us on the team had any conception of what we were doing, but the significant thing was that we were all working in conjunction as diligently as we could at every practice to develop our skills. After the first game, we began to grasp the notion that the more that we supported each other during the game, the better we did on the field. Throughout the season, our coach made it clear to us that it didn’t matter if we won or lost, as long as we tried our best, stayed enthusiastic, and enjoyed ourselves.

As the game carried on, our team held a commanding lead after the second game leading ten to six by 34 pins. After the second match, Coach Sanders pulled us all together as a team, and he gave us an uplifting speech. Coach Sanders told us we can’t lose focus although we are winning. He also said we have to keep our foot on the gas and whip their tails, and he reminded us of all the Friday weight room workouts we had gone through to reach this point. He told us to give it our all for the seniors that helped to build the program since they were…

Middle Ages Essay Jazlyn Barnes Every person has standard rules they have to obey based on what society tells them such as laws, but what makes us different is we each have our own code of honor to live by as well. This code of honor is our morals and values set in place to define how we make decisions. As Alice Waters once said, “ The decisions you make are a choice of values that reflect your life in every way”. A few of the values I try to embody are being able to work as a team, being loyal to those I love, and living in a Godly way to make sure I am not causing others to stumble in their faith based off my actions. One thing that is important to have being apart of a sports team is being supportive and successful together.…

For many high school athletes, the role of sports has been to help them advance to college, or aspire to become a professional athlete. However, the role of sports in my life derived from my desire of being a part of a team, and having an escape from any stressful issues. Being a member of a team sport easily allows for close friendships to form. From being around each other multiple hours every day, working together in practices and games, and bus rides to events, it allowed for bonds to be formed. This year serving as a captain for both the soccer and swim teams, it really enforced more of a connection between my teammates and I. As captain, I wanted to make sure that everyone was performing to the best of their ability, while also enjoying…

My experience after completing the Playspent activity I thought it was interesting and how challenging it is to only have $1000 dollars to start, which is fairly low and unstable to live with that amount of money. During my experience I felt there were difficult decisions that I had to decide especially, relating to my health and for the children. For example, if I decided to go to the dental office and remove my root cannel I would have to pay out of pocket $800, which I could not afford and decided to put this health issue aside. I also decided to spend more money on my children than myself because they are able to participate in activities that can promote their growth and beneficial for their future. I thought it was surprising that…

Communication- Sending Effective Messages A key part of ensuring that your coaching methods are effective often can be determined by the effectiveness of their ability to communicate within a team; coaches who can be seen as effective communicators have the ability to send messages that clearly convey the intended content and ensure that it is received in the anticipated way.it is also very important that coaches have the ability to inform players of their current analyses on their performance allowing them to give feedback to their players on how to overcome current weaknesses , in addition to praising them on current strengths, this can also allow for a health relationship to develop between coach and players as it shows that coach has an…

Throughout my short eighteen years of life thus far, I have had a great privilege of playing on all sorts of teams. Consequently, because of that I learned an endless amount of the differences between a successful team and a team who more or less struggles. However, most of my team's success occurred when I was younger. Which was great because I developed positive attitudes towards sports along with all my teammates and we all just formed into a big unit, and we pretty much were a dominant machine in virtually every sport. Laughter was always the main part through all of our success.…
