Kick seining is a way for people to find aquatic macroinvertebrates in the water. There are three different ways of Kick seining within a creek. Once a creek is found you can begin. The first way is to have someone holding the net and the other person walks towards the net and kicks up the water and rocks. This is so that the organisms at the bottom of the river are pushed up into the net to be looked at. Secondly, there is the two person way to kick seining. This is where there is one person on each side of the net and they both walk upstream. This will have any macroinvertebrates that are in the way up onto the net.
