American football has been around for decades, with one of the most important roles being the kicker. Kickers start and end the game for both teams. The role of the kicker is to be accurate and have infinite range to score for their respective team in hopes of achieving the final goal of winning. Many kickers are their team's leading scorer, having thousands of points. With this being said, many problems come along with having such a vital role on a team. These goals come with complications and problems such as pelvic, knee, leg, and back injuries. I have been kicking football for over six years. Through this time I have gained a plethora of knowledge about the sport of kicking, but in no way am I qualified to diagnose injuries. However, I do feel with my

This drill helps to get less power on the ball, focusing on form, therefore, relieving the stress on one’s back. In addition, one of the worst injuries for a kicker is their mentality. Kickers are “only” needed at the most important times of the game. Kickers get so much hate as people say they are not real football players and they do not belong on the team. Instead, the reality is kickers put just as much time, if not more, into their craft to not mess up. It is not a big deal if a quarterback makes a bad pass or if a lineman misses a block because they have hundreds of attempts, so if a kicker misses one kicker then they are seen as a failure. No one sees the extreme hours and late-night kickers go through, for example, take the Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass. Tyler was an American National Football League kicker with eighty-two percent accuracy (ESPN, 2023, image.1). No one knew of Tyler until he missed the game-winning kick to send his team to the
