Khaled Hosseini has written the novel ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ in an attempt to narrate and allow the readers to understand the cruelty of the Afghan society is like. The novel has been set throughout three time periods; the Soviets, Taliban and post-Taliban.
Hosseini has also demonstrated how the Taliban used fear to control the people in the country and, in particular, women.
