Key West Research Paper

Fellow students, this is a very exciting proposition for you. The Cornerstone Christian Academy 8th grade class has won a trip. Not just any trip, but an overnight field trip anywhere along the east coast. This could be anywhere from the tip of Maine to the Florida Keys. This is time to rewind, relax, and enjoy ourselves. It would be a great bonding experience for the 32 of us, and we’d grow closer as a class and Cornerstone family. So, why not Key West? Many resorts dot the tropical island of Key West. One in specific, The Marker Waterfront Resort. Teachers, along with great active experiences, there are also wonderful educational lessons to be told. The history of Key West dates all the way back to 1521. There are many thrilling places to be seen such as the East Martello Fort. The location is no more than five miles from the resort, so transportation would be a breeze. The East Martello Fort “is the best-preserved example of the Martello style of military architecture in the country” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martello_Gallery-Key_West_Art_and_Historical_Museum). I would hope learning why the fort was build and what the historical meaning behind it was. History could provide a great learning exposure for us all. Wherever the class chooses to go, it should be a trip to remember. The island of Key West is a tropical vacation getaway many would enjoy. Just as many other places could provide amazing experiences, Key West is full of amazing thrill and mind blowing history. Hopefully this was enough to convince you that the Island of Key West would be the best field trip
