There many factors in a medical practice that are necessary to properly and effectively manage patients and patient care. Specific follow up mechanisms for studies such labs and radiology etc. Also, systems to ensure that patients are followed up on timely fashions and if appointment is missed the patient is contacted. Also, from a safety standpoint the practice, physician, nurse practice and physician assistants are following evidenced based medical protocols. Cost saving can be achieved in healthcare through many ways. Those would include becoming a patient center medical home, which has been showed to improve patient care and reduce cost. Also, to engage in population health protocols designed to help improve the health of the population and therefore reduce cost.
