According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary (2016) "the system of political organization prevailing in Europe from the 9th to about the 15th centuries having as its basis the relation of lord to vassal with all land held in fee and as chief characteristics homage, the service of tenants under arms and in court, wardship, and forfeiture"

The Peasants:
The peasants were granted lands from the knights in exchange for providing food and services to the upper classes.They were the lowest class with no rights not even to marry without their lord's permission.
Why is the feudal system important today?
According to Strayer (cited in Brown 2016) laid special emphasis on the splintering of political and public power and authority, and he believed that systematized feudal institutions and customs were compatible with the formation of large political units, which he viewed as recognizable precursors of contemporary nation-states. Without it, there would not be a foundation for the complex structure of our contemplations society and we could not look back at our mistakes and achieve a better future.

It really is a revolution. Sex and race, because they are easy, visible differences, have been the primary ways of organizin human beings into superior and inferior groups, and into the cheap labor on which this system still depends. We are talking about a society in which there will be no roles other than those chosen, or those earned. We are really talking about humanism". In this quote Steinem is addressing the gender inequality women are inferior to men for the same amount of work they are payed less.Society also gives roles makes expectations for women for example to be a house wife to stay at home raise children and do all the
