Key Factors That Contribute To Quality Assurance In Physiotherapy Practice

According to standard 10 of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Proficiency (2013) a Band 5 physiotherapist must ‘be able to assure the quality of their practise’. With reference and examples from my own clinical practice, this essay will critically evaluate the current literature and relevant policy documents, in order to identify the factors that contribute to quality assurance in physiotherapy practice. There will also be a focus on the current key issues in healthcare provision and what impact they have on physiotherapy practice, with an emphasis on the HCPC Standards of Proficiency (2013), National Health Service (NHS) Knowledge and Skills Framework (2010), The Francis Report (2013) and Seven Day Services (NHS,
