The 2000 Presidential election was the first time George W. Bush ran for president. He ran against Dick Cheney and won. The electoral votes were 271-266 with George having more. This was a significant election because it was the 4th election in all of American history where the candidate that had more electoral votes did not have more popular votes. In the 2008 Presidential Election first time candidate Barack Obama went against John McCain. Obama was the democratic candidate and John was the republican candidate. The Electoral votes were 365-173 with Obama having the 365. Obama also had the popular vote with 69,498,516 votes, while John only had 59,948,323 votes. Obama had won over 28 states and John had won over 22 states in this election.

This was more important than other things on the list because it changed history unlike the other things. One of the things on the list was the median cost of a new house. This was on the list because a car was necessary to survive. Throughout the different generations of the IPhone there are many changes leading to better versions of the IPhone. Which causes a larger increase of people buying this product. Another product made was the Playstation 2 created on March 4,2000. This product was the first gaming console that offers backwards compatibility. This console became a bestseller.
