Coffee pods have been a vastly popular way to make coffee home. Originally designed for office use, these machines reduce brewing and cleaning time. Keurig Green Mountain is one of the leaders in the coffee pod industry competing with Nespresso and Tassimo. Currently, almost one in three American homes now has a pod-based coffee machine, even though it’s primarily made for office use, (Hamblin, 2015). Last year alone K-Cups accounted for most of the company’s $4.7 billion in revenue, which was more than five times what the company made in the five previous years, (Hamblin, 2015).
