I. Power, though difficult to define, exists in various forms and areas of life.
A. The range of a person’s power corresponds with the amount present in their position.
B. Those who obtain a sufficient amount power can affect a wide range of people’s lives and communities
C. How they affect these communities depends on their intentions and how they exploit their power.
D. Actress Kerry Washington uses her power obtained from being a well-known celebrity to spread awareness on current issues and help those in difficult situations.

Her involvement at her local Boys and Girls group allowed Washington to learn dance from Jennifer Lopez, who she saw as an inspiration when she left for LA follow her dreams.
C. Growing up in the Bronx, humbled Washington and is one her motivations to improve the lives of those in need.
D. She was raised in an environment where speaking your mind was practiced and going out and carrying out actions that would embody your opinion was praised.
