Kentucky: Map Analysis

Map analysis is to explain the details and characteristics of the map and tell exactly what type of map it is. There are several different types of maps; the type of map I chosen to analyze is a thematic map of Kentucky. I chose the state of Kentucky because that is half of my heritage.
My Momma is from Kentucky and that is where the entire side of my Momma’s family is from and currently live. The map I chose shows in great detail of the highways and interstates. It also shows the boundary of the state as well as the states that surround Kentucky. There are seven states that border Kentucky; which are Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and

When I was analyzing the map I realized that the map only showed two major towns, but there are more than two major towns in Kentucky. It only shows Louisville and Lexington as the two major towns. I do not know if the reason for that is because that is where the two main Colleges are located University of Kentucky and University of Louisville or what. I know for a fact that Bowling Green is a major town as well as Elizabeth Town. Elizabeth Town is the town that Fort Knox is located.
Another disadvantage of this map is it is not to scale; so I could not measure the distance it is from my Momma’s hometown, Bowling Green to the town she grew up; which is Louisville.
