To begin, there is always a reason for protesting no matter what it is. First there what a bombing performed by the United States military on Cambodia. The bombing was an expansion of the vietnam war into Cambodia, which caused outrage on the citizens of United States. Across the country, there were protests by students on college campuses, universities, and high schools. Overall, the protests attracted over four million students and over four hundred fifty universities and high schools. From all the protest, in Ohio at Kent State University, national guards showed up to the campus to end the protest there. The guards executed their plan to silence the protester. National guards fired at unarmed, peacefully protesting students. They fired sixty-seven bullets in thirteen seconds. From the shots fired, it scared the students away, which was their plan. After firing into the crowd of students, there were four students killed and ten others wounded. Before they shot at the young citizens, they kept trying to force them away back to their dormitories, but it didn't work.
