Kenny Ray Carter was born on February 13, 1959, and throughout his life, he was an American business owner, education activist, and former high school basketball coach. Carter attended San Francisco State College and George Fox University. A movie was made to honor his famed basketball coaching career. In the movie "Coach Carter" Samuel L. Jackson instilled maturity, commitment, and character in every single basketball player on the team.
