Every one was devastated by the death of this president, but the fact that his wife, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, related him to the Arthurian legend, Camelot, made it even worse. During her only interview, Jackie told White during her interview, “There will be great presidents again, but there will never be another Camelot.” Ever since Kennedy was young, he was infatuated with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Out of all of the notable women that Mr. West served as Chief Usher, Jackie Kennedy intrigued me the most. I would be interested in learning extra about her since she was, out of all the first ladies I read about, the one I found to be superbly admirable . In my opinion, Mr. West was closer to Jackie-O than any of the other First Ladies, and consequently she became considerably more humanized, making her more likable. While she did have her vulnerable moments, Mrs. Kennedy was an astounding role model of strength because of the way she commendably maintained her sense of duty…

I grew up with John F. Kennedy. Well, not exactly—Kennedy was assassinated a few years before my parents were even born. So, a more accurate statement is that I grew up with my grandfather’s vivid memories of Kennedy and his political career: specific lines from one of Kennedy’s speeches, or even a photo of my grandfather as a teenager in the front row of a Kennedy campaign rally. Politics was an integral part of my childhood—involuntarily—and it is now a crucial part of my identity. I always receive the same retort after telling adults I love politics: “so what are your views?”…
