Seeing as I worked at Boise Fry Company for a year, I can absolutely tell about what the yams are. Contrary to popular belief real yams are not sweet potatoes! Yams are the orange fries that you get at most restaurant, yams are a fibrous potato that have both a sweet and savory flavor. Sweet potatoes on the other hand are a thicker sweeter and smoother potato, these take longer to cook so you are not likely to get these in most restaurant. But while these may be what Yams are I don’t think that these are the same “Yams” that Kendrick Lamar is talking about is his song “King Kunta” on the album To Pimp a Butterfly.
