Ryan dungey and ken roczen had very different amature careers. Ryan dungey is from minnesota and had it easy as an amature career while ken roczen was from germany. Amature motocross is mainly in the unites states so ken roczen was not in the center of motocross. Since ryan was in the united states he was easily sponsored, and and was pretty much racing for free. As soon as ken roczen moved the the united states when he was 15 he immediately turned pro. Ryan dungey was already pro from proving himself has a younger kid. Throughout their careers as pro so far they have both had many wins and success. They both have also won many championships.
Ryan dungey and ken roczen are pretty similar when it comes to teams and sponsorships. When i ryan dungey turned pro he signed to join team suzuki. He raced on there team for 3 years and then moved to team ktm when his contract ended. Ken roczen also started his pro career by signing for team suzuki. After one year of racing on suzuki he moved to team honda. Ken roczen was on team honda for 3 month but then he got hurt and dropped from the team. The following year ken roczen signed with team ktm and is now teammates with ryan dungey.
Ryan dungey and ken roczen have both won many times throughout their careers but ryan dungey has been way more successful. Ryan dungey has always been one step in front of roczen and also beats him unless he crashes. Through dungey's career he has managed to win 47 nation motocross races and 21 supercross races. On the other hand ken roczen has won 14 national motocross races and only 9 supercross races. Dungey has also won 5 championship while ken roczen has only won one
