Ken Robinson Shared: Inspiring And Motivating

Decent Essays
The talk that Ken Robinson shared is very inspiring and motivating. I have learned something in his 20 minutes talk. I agree with what he said, because He speaks the truth. One of what he says is that, we people are put in a place where we have no idea of whats going to happen, he also said that everybody has an interest in education but not all has given the right and chance to experience education for personal and different reasons. Education teach as a lot and leads us to where we want to be if we are determined and motivated enough to learn, different hindrances are just challenges that test us, tests our limits and patience if we really are strong and brave enough to solve whatever problems that comes in our way, and we are not afraid

My mother, like most parents, attempted to always provide for me the best opportunities that she could afford for me, although she had severely limited resources. I grew up in a neighbor with others of my low socioeconomic status. This particular region in Savannah, Georgia was predominately inhabited by minorities, and was not recognized for its academic excellence. Realizing that the poor education in this area only perpetuated the poverty, my mother fought the school board to allow me to attend school in another district; initially, she was unsuccessful. Based on former educator’s evaluation of me, the school, did not believe that the problem was in the system, but within me.…

Education is such an essential and fundamental element in our lives. Throughout education, we acquire knowledge, learn what people before us have discovered or written and undoubtedly carve our own thinking the way we have been thought. In the article "Education", Ralph Waldo Emerson, a renowned lecturer and visionary thinker, expresses how education that is being adopted in our civilization does more harm than good for the students. He builds up this claim by first presenting a paradox connecting "Genius and Drill", in which one cannot function without the other.…

What good is education if we use it to disguise our society that is crumbling right in front of our eyes and not being able to see it because we follow these so called “educated men”. This is what Martin Luther King Jr. had to struggle with and tried to get this message across with his speech “The Purpose of Education” to a group of students in Morehouse College. Martins point of view on what education should be is, “ Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education.” We should all strive to have this mindset in our educational careers but what does intelligence plus character actually mean?Intelligence plus character is to be more effective by having real goals for your life, to think logically and scientifically, and to think intensively and critically with efficiency.…

Situations in life often elicit for change, whether it is growing through life or making the decision to conform or shy away from “societies norms.” As anything in life these both call for change, whether it is a change in attitude or mood, things such as these are major influential factors. In the words of Albert Camus, “In order to exist, man must rebel, but rebellion must respect the limits that it discovers in itself - limits where minds meet, and in meeting, to exist”, his words illustrate a very profound meaning, but it is simply stating is, a person if we ‘live’ searching for meaning or the meaning of life, we will never live. We live in a society where we have the ability to choose and to make decisions,…

For many years people have been programmed to believe that everything that was taught in a classroom would lead us to a bright and youthful future. But, time and time again, research has proven otherwise when being compared to other countries. Not to mention, being a subject of these institutions of higher learning and growing up in the public school systems, I have come the realization that the public schools were intentionally designed for those who are not at the aristocratic level to fail. In fact, in actuality, the real purpose of education is not to educate its subjects, but socialize them, but I will explain this later in this essay. As a whole, our education system has failed us through our politicians, psychologist, and pharmaceutical…

What is the purpose of education and how students can be reformed by it from our society? Students are consistently asked what they want to do with their lives pressured to fit in and decide in this short amount of time. The real question isn’t “why” or “what” you want to do here in college but is it important to yourself. I’ve seen countless examples of peers explaining how they only go to college to make their parents proud or they don’t have a passion for their major but instead just making money to have stability. Instead of asking us to figure out what we want to be, why not just listen to what we want It 's all about communication in order to get a successful outcome.…
