Ken: A Fictional Narrative

Superior Essays
Ken is just a normal kid; goes to school, has a nice family, and has good friends. His life is simple but satisfying. It’s Summer, and Ken and Dan promised each other that they were going to hang out as soon as Summer started. On the second day of Summer, Ken finds out that his soccer game has been canceled when his mom told him this morning during breakfast.
“If that's true, then could I walk over to Dan’s house before lunch?” Ken asks.
“A twelve-year-old walking that far you must be crazy!” Ken’s mom replies.
“Come on, it’s just around the corner and down the avenue, I’ll be fine.” The room is silent for a long time it seems until Ken’s mom talk again.
“Fine, you can, but only if you promise to stay safe and call me as soon as you get there.”
“Yes, yes I promise!” Says Ken as he quickly finishes his breakfast and goes upstairs to call Dan. Ken calls Dan and tells him the great news.
“Come over at 11:30, I’ll get the place cleaned up and we can play some Xbox for a little bit before lunch,” Dan says.

Ken quietly walks over to his bag and takes out his cell phone. “Dead,” he says. “Now what” Ken looks around the room and see a bobby pin on a dresser. He quickly walks over, picks up the bobby pin, and kneels down in front of the door. “Here goes nothing,” Ken says as he fiddles the pin around the lock. With some time, the pin hit and broke something in the lock, causing the door to unlock. Ken starts to walk out of the room when he hears the

Jungkook groans and rolls over in bed when the sunlight filtering through his tiny bedroom window becomes simply impossible to ignore. He cracks an eye open and the small digital clock on his bedside table comes into view, and he squints to focus the dull red numbers, eventually making out 8:47. He allows his eyes to flutter closed again, and then in half a second is suddenly very awake when he realizes that his first class of the day starts at precisely 9:05; meaning he has exactly eighteen minutes to get up, at least try to look decent, and get his ass halfway across campus. “The Tiger With No Eyes” We had made a complete stop in front of Halawa District Park Gym. The Lawakua Kajukenbo Club students unloaded the bus of goodies: variety boxes of Lays chips and granola bars, overly-used sparring equipment, bags of slightly deflated red kicking shields with black straps, tables and tent poles. I pulled my two scrawny arms around a box of Quaker Oats granola bars and followed the pack. As my friends and I turned the corner, the rest of the group formed a home base along the side of the gym. “Come on!…
