ABRAHAM MASLOW HIERACHY
The concept of motivation has been defined as the psychological process that gives behavior purpose and direction (Kreitner, 1995). This motivation is to understand what drives the employee nor the people motivates to push their performance in work. Motivation is important because under an optimal conditions, effort can often be increased and sustained or in other simple word according to Smith 1994 (Smith G. P., 1994) , we need motivated employees to survive. It needs a delegation without constant supervision, so employees can become self-motivated. There are five steps in Maslow’s Hierarchy in order to achieve the employee’s behavior and motivation in their own work field. According to (Maslow, 1943) theory, there are four typed of need that has to be satisfied in a person before ones act selflessly. Figure 1 shows, the needs that has been arranged in a pyramid direction. This hierarchical order ascend as from the bottom to the top one step at a time. This is because an individual need to be on the lower level in order to be motivate to rise to the next level. The first basic needs are the physiological, continue ascend to the need for safety, longing for love and affection and then the hunt for esteem and lastly the self-actualization of a fulfillment in ourselves. According to (White & Lippitt, 1960) had agreed that the democratic leadership is defined as “it emphasize group participation, discussion, and group decisions encouraged by the leader”. Research has found that this type of leadership is the most effective and a better way to engage with group members and share the knowledge plus it’s encourage people to share ideas and create something new. As (Smith, 1998) believe that “if the task is highly structured and the leader has a good relationship with the employees, effectiveness will be high on the part of the employees”. His research also elaborate to reveal that the democratic leaders take great care to involve all member the team in discussion, and can work with a small but highly motivated
