Mostly because we have cultivated non healthy habits for so many years at home and in our work environment. Fast food has become the normal substitute for what we used to call food. More than likely most fast food is devoid of much nutritional value ladened with chemicals, pesticides and hormones. One might take a look around and see the people that are actually surviving on these types of diets. Maybe they might notice that they are unhealthy and unhappy. A large percentage of people today are overweight sluggish and just plain tired all the time. I noticed this many years ago and decided that I didn't want to emulate the normal persons habits and become fat and lazy. I also believe that these type of people may not be thinking properly. They do not exhibit common sense and the ability to make clear and concise decisions in their lives. Hence the evidence would be very clear to many of us by their continued actions of not noticing that they are over weight and unhappy. I believe that this type of behavior is a learned behavior and has been conditioned in us since we were very small. Especially those of us who were born after the invention of television and the Internet.
