Keerah Cacal Case Study

Decent Essays
This paper is a reflection and assessment evaluating the performance of myself and Keerah Cacal for case 4; it includes discussing the communication process, strengths, weaknesses and satisfaction with the final product as well as motivation for a student to work in teams.
On October 7, 2005, Keerah sent me a text message in class asking if we can be a partner to work in case 4 and I replied her text by saying “Yes.” I really like to work with her despite that we don’t have time to meet each other. I started to work the case on October 10, 2015, but I did not finish it because I have to study for the exam. Because we have a group chat in Line, I informed with Keerah that I answered to question 4, 5 and 6. Then, she reminded me by saying “make sure that there is half left for me to answer.” This is something that I like Keerah is that she is very fair and comfortable to work with. She is not like my past group member who did not contribute anything. I want my partner or group member to show their participation and cooperation that they are part of the team even if he or she is not fully knowledgeable about the topic. For my part, even if I am not good writing or reading, I also try my best to cooperate as part of the group. I also offered suggestions or comments if I have an idea.

Unfortunately, Keerah started to answer her question around 7 pm and I was still in class. She was confused on how to do with question 1 and I offered my help, but she insisted that no need and just do your part. After my class, I also continued my work and Keerah and I both finished around 1:00 am in the morning, but we did not finish it because we are so sleepy. Before I slept, I texted her that I will finish my part in the morning. When I woke up, she did not finish as well. These are our weaknesses: we need more time on homework and we have lacked of

In our Business Planning Seminar, we have had the opportunity to work as a virtual team. A virtual team is different than a traditional team within an organization. Our virtual team consisted of individual team members who are separated by physical proximity and distance. Our team was not only separated by distance, but by time zones, cultures, work, and personal lives. Much like a traditional team, our team was united by a shared goal and our interactions were based solely on technology and electronic communication.…

This chapter talks about students and homework. A student has a busy life in school and for a student to grow, they must get a sufficient amount of sleep every night. A teacher cannot expect a student to do over an hour of homework every night. The discovery team project overall was a good experience and I will try to take something that I learned from it with me for future team projects. Three insights that I learned from this activity are utilizing all commuctaion technogly that are available, the need for leadership, and that a team without conflict seems that the members are not invested in the project. The discover team that I was on only used one way to communicate. It ended up being slow and not a lot of involvement. There was not anyone that took a strong leadership role in the team.…

Reflection Paper II Throughout my college experience here in the Carroll School of Management, group work and the ability to work well with others has been emphasized greatly. This makes sense, because in a professional environment, the ability to communicate, listen and contribute within a group leads to success and the achievement of goals. However, none have gone on as long as this project, making it a more realistic example of working on a team. Junior year of college is definitely a crazy time, as we are forced to balance heavy workloads with extracurriculars and recruiting.…
