On Loving your Enemies

Matthew 5:46-47
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

If someone were to be very kind to you, give you lots of wonderful presents, give you bags of your favorite candy, take care of you when you were sick, make you laugh when you feel sad, think you are the best person in the world, and love you with all their heart.
Do you think you would love them back?
Yes - you probably would.
But there is no great reward in that kind of love. Anyone can do that. There is nothing special or unusual there even evil people love those who love them.

IF YOU ARE LOVING FOLKS ONLY TO THOSE WHO LOVE YOU, YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN THE WORLD

His kingdom works in a much different way.

I'm sure many time you've heard folks say that you should only like those who like you. Folks in general whom don't know Jesus have told you to only love those who love you back and to hate your enemies. But even if the WORLD tells you that this is how you should be, Jesus had something very different to say.

The world tells us that Gods way is "upside down", When its really RIGHT SIDE UP. Gods way is RIGHT!
ROMANS 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

It' saying that the Holy Spirit has poured out the love of God into your heart. That is the formula brothers/sisters.
That is how you can LOVE your enemies, do good to those who uses you, and pray for those who persecute you. understand ITS NOT YOUR LOVE.
It is God's love that He poured out into your heart when you ask to be filled with His Holy Spirit.
God gives you TRUE LOVE FOR OTHERS.
IT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT HELPS YOU TO LOVE LIKE JESUS

Matthew 5:44 - But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Sounds weird?

They spitefully and willfully use me- to get what they want. They have no good thought toward me other than what they can get out of me.

Its so much easier to hate them back, no?
You want me to pray for those that persecute and torment me? That is a really hard pill to swallow.
How can I do that?
Because everything in me wants to hate back, hurt back, and be spiteful back. EVERYTHING IN ME that is WITHOUT JESUS. Its God's love poured out into your heart by the Holy Spirit. It is an exciting way to live.
HIS LOVE IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN REALLY CONQUER YOUR ENEMIES.

Basically, when you love your enemies you are being like your Heavenly Father.
Now that you are His, you can strive to be like Him and love like Him.

Romans 5:5 says, He poured it into our hearts. When it runs low, He will pour more in by His Holy Spirit.
God gives us true love for others, even the hard to love folks.

Don't never stop asking God to fill your heart with His love, even if it is a hundred or a thousand times a day.

Now, how do you get that love inside?
First, you have to have Jesus as our Savior.
He gives everyone new life so you can step into God's kingdom as God's

The first note of the song immediately draws listeners in, inviting them to listen to this beautiful poem set to music. What seems so intimate and personal, as though we are eavesdropping on this private conversation, is actually an invitation to participate. “Closer To Believing”, written by Peter Sinfield and Greg Lake, a track from Greg Lake 's side of the Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s, Works, Volume 1 album, is a tender ballad that is almost whispered. Greg Lake has said in interviews about his songs that when he is writing them, they are very personal and belong only to him, but once he records the song, it belongs to everybody, which is the reason he does not like discussing the meanings to his songs (in-text citation). Lake wants each listener…

Robertson Davies explores in Fifth Business the conflict between love of others and love of ourselves. The characters in the novel are not attached to only one person in physically or spiritually, because they only love themselves and just seek for their own pleasures. Ironically, people want to love and also want freedom. Human’s behaviors are in order to satisfy their own desires, that shows love is selfish. Dunstan’s love to Mary Dempster is selfless because he does not want to get anything as a return from Mary.…

Jealousy comes when one's focus is taken off God and put upon the world. Hebrews 13:4 states “but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” God's Word also states in I Corinthians 3:17 “if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.” The purity of mankind should be maintained, therefore the jealous husband was to bring her before the priest who would carry out all the law.
