And i don’t think that is okay we should try to prevent that from happening. I say “Schools need to take all possible measures to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.” Safety should be number 1 in a school not learning because if someone gets hurt or injured from these people bringing in weapons they most likely come back to that school.…

If teachers have access to the weapons, an intruder could also gain access only increasing the potential for violence. Concealed handguns in the schools would be kept in a secure area and teachers and administrators would have strict procedures in carrying the gun on school grounds. There would be more responsibility for the teachers and administrators, but in order to protect students teachers would welcome new regulations. The battle continues in state legislatures across the country.…

I believe that teachers and other officials at the school should be required to have background checks frequently and also be trained on how to fire weapons. They should also be trained on how to protect the students in case of a school shooting. Every teacher, if they meet the requirements, should be able to keep a handgun and ammunition in a safe place that is close to them at all times, whether it be on their hip in a holster, a desk drawer, a cabinet, or some other place. I do not believe the students should be allowed to carry their weapons around school, due to a student possibly getting mad and firing their weapon at someone else. Most shootings happen at schools or places like schools that have rules that make it to where you cannot…

This is causing schools to increase security and prepare for a potential war against unknown individuals. This has shown a negative effect on a significant amount of students who now see school as unsafe. Metal detectors, security cameras, and many other security safeguards have been a regular necessity for schools. Instead of using these things as a last resort effort to prevent violence there needs to be a less invasive plan in place that limits the security presence on campuses without it being overwhelming.…

Students are not allowed to chew gum in the classroom, but in Southern states, teachers are allowed to carry guns in a room full of young children. Mass shootings have been occurring in the United States for centuries, but recently school shootings have become disturbingly frequent. Some schools believe that putting dangerous weapons in the hands of teachers will prevent or stop a mass shooting and an armed intruder. Teachers should not be allowed to carry guns in their classroom because guns can lead to targeted attacks against teachers and students, send the wrong message causing fear in students, and can cause more danger by inspiring other mass attacks and getting into the hands of young people.…

In the 20th century, there were no chains, locks, or cameras in the schools. Back in those days, parents worried more about their children’s grades, rather than their safety. Kids never really thought about bringing guns to school or any matter of that nature. Now that it’s the 21st century, schools are required to have locks on their doors and install cameras for a student’s safety. Kids, these days, constantly worry if someone will come into their school with a gun and start shooting.…
