Should we maintain the drinking age at 21
There is one thing that is very confused. Why the American people get a gun that is easier than they drink alcohol? The drinking age is an arguable topics in the USA. Some people support to lower the drinking age, but some people don't. From the historical research, since July 1984, all U.S. states have laws that need people to be at least 21 years old to buy alcohol. Under this law, the minimum legal drinking age is effective to reduce the rate of crime and crashes in teenagers. But in some countries, the drinking age is not limited, and the statistics of safety research reports that "the minimum legal drinking ages are 16-18 in European countries, 18-19 in Canada, and 18 in Australia and New Zealand."

In the New York Time, Professor of Temple University Laurence Steinberg reports that" he is in favor of lowering the drinking age to 19, which would help solve the problem of illegal drinking on campus -- although some undergrads are younger than 19, the vast majority are not." From his research we can find drinking can promote social networks. In the University, the age of 21 law limits student to communicate, because half of whom are legally permitted to drink, and half of whom are not. This leads to a vast amount of illegal drinking on campus. This may be related to social responsibility, some people said "if highway safety really is the main concern, we'd accomplish much more by raising the driving age." On the other words, if our society is safe enough, why do we need to limit drinking age to 21. The 21 drinking age is not only limiting social networks, it also bring social credit problem. If the undergrads who are not 21 years old want to join college social network, they have to use the fake ID to buy alcohol. This is cheat behaviors, which leads social problems. From this aspect, I have to say we are necessary to lower the drinking age to 18 or 19 years
