Keep props off on the bench.
Attach antenna before powering up.
Wear safety goggles when connecting the battery.

Sensors
Calibrate the accelerometer and magnetometer in INAV.
Connect RubiQ to INAV and find the colored icons at the top of the screen. These show the sensors that are running: the gyro, accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer and GPS. Keeping these sensors sharply calibrated allows the drone to auto-correct itself more precisely during flight. {image of blue icons}

The barometer comes pre-calibrated, but the other sensors need to be set up before the drone is flight-ready. Once all

The Setup tab also allows you to check the output from the GPS, such as the number of satellites it’s connected to. If you’re working inside, you’re probably not seeing any data.

The GPS units connected to drones are actually GPS receivers. The true GPS is the Global Positioning System, which is a network of around 31 satellites (the number varies over time) that orbit the Earth and transmit high-frequency, lower power radio signals. As electromagnetic radiation, these signals travel at the speed of light. They can easily pass through clouds, glass or plastic, but are blocked or deflected by solids like tall buildings or leafy trees. This is why INAV typically shows 0 connected satellites when RubiQ is inside.

The satellites are programmed so that anywhere, at any time, there are at least 4 overhead. Why 4? The GPS receiver needs data from at least 4 satellites to determine its location using trilateration. Here’s how it

    Now, test out the FPV goggles inside. Start by threading the antenna onto the FPV goggles — this is the receiver that picks up the video feed sent by the drone’s VTX and antenna. Connect RubiQ and the FPV goggles to their appropriate LiPo batteries. Then, sit down and strap the goggles to your head. If you see “snow” on the screen, press the Channel button and flip through the available channels until you see the live video feed.…

    The platform, like other Brigade level ones, could only stay on station for a couple of hours. This diminished possible intelligence collection of areas that were further away. Additionally, its range for its video feed was dependent on the line of sight to its home station and limited the video feed to the local infantry Battalion that it was stationed with in Kunduz city. Furthermore, there was not any Army GEOINT Analysts exploiting the video from the Fire Scout since the Navy sent theirs to accommodate the new use of the system for the Army. This prolonged the time it took for reports to get to the Brigade Commander and the GEOINT cell in Camp…

    A wildlife conservationist once said, “Extinction is forever, endangered means we still have time.” Most poachers are after elephants’ precious ivory tusks, which are used to make statues, jewelry, and other prized objects. Conservationists are using these two devices to turn back to drone technology as well as global positioning systems (GPS) & ink injections to fight back against poachers. Poaching is a growing global concern that will continue to destroy wildlife if we do not do something about it. One way to slow down animal poaching is by creating better aerial security where wildlife lives.…

    A drone is any unmanned aircraft that one can program or they can be autonomous. These robots often use GPS technology to be more accurate when preforming a task. Additionally, in most states an individual must receive a certificate of authorization from the FAA before using drones for any purpose other than recreational. The Federal Government uses drones to make citizens lives safer and easier by monitoring wild fires, supporting law enforcement, and training the military. However, the demand for consumer drones is increasing rapidly due to the FAA Modernization and Reform act, which is a four-year plan to introduce new aviation technology into our government, causes many people to question the drone’s nature within our country (FAA Modernization…
