Transcendentalist ideas are prevalent in popular culture such as music. In Tupac Shakur’s song, “Keep Ya Head Up”, he says:

The Pixar movie, Wall-E, is about a robot who has a short-circuit so he thinks freely for himself while all the other robots have broken down because they don't think to fix themselves. Free thought is a part of transcendentalism that represented well here. The whole concept of the movie is that humans haven’t appreciated nature and have made the planet uninhabitable. While he is seeing earth for the first time, the ship’s captain says, “Wait, that doesn't look like Earth. Where's the blue sky? Where's the-the grass?” (Stanton). This shows how much humans had neglected the health of the world, and ended up ultimately killing it. In the end, Wall-E helps the humans become more confident and return back to earth; he also teaches them to appreciate nature and protect it at all costs. Wall-E teaches many transcendentalist ideas to the humans such as the importance of nature, confidence, and self-reliance. Many adults will show these movies to their callow children. We are exposing our children to many beneficial transcendentalist ideas, such as free thought and appreciating nature, through movies and songs that will prove to be beneficial in their future by helping them make good decisions pertaining to these
