Assignments due, finals week, and wishing they were home with their family; those are all things first semester college freshmen stress out about. College is very stressful, but there are many ways a student can stay calm and not stress out over the little things. Although some might say that being a first semester college freshman is stressful no matter what, others would say that with the help of being organized, going to their classes every day, and making time for themselves; a college freshman will be able to stay calm and not stress out over the little things that are happening around them.

“Making time to relax is a very good technique to help you stay calm.” (Hansen 1) College freshman or even any other college student should always make time in their schedule to have some relaxation time. There are many different techniques that a college student can do to make themselves stay calm and not think about school for a little bit. “Meditation, listening to soothing music, and hanging out with your friends; are all ways to help you relax.” (Brice 1) Because making time for themselves is very important, many college freshman tend to become more calm when they have time to relax and not have to think about school. Some college students have said that going to the gym helps them become calm. They say that the gym is where they can blow off steam and working out helps them stay healthy and can also make their minds relax as they are trying to focus on what they are doing whether than trying to remember an assignment that is due or something that they thought they might have missed when the professor was teaching class.
