The current generation has displayed a lot of potential when it comes to talent. This has seen some teenagers and youth in the early 20s rise to stardom. Katy Perry is undoubtedly one of the finest musicians of our time, her uniqueness being realized in the composure of her music as well as other activities out of music. On the 25th of October, 1984, Katheryn Hudson is born in California, United States (Hollywood Life, n.p). It is not expected that Ms. Hudson will become a top fashion figure and musician, but hard work and interacting with the right people nurtures her to become the now famous Katy Perry. The idea of her joining the music industry is controversial and comes as a shock to many, as most of her fans cannot even believe that she comes from a family that is very conservative. In fact, the parents are very strict to an extent that they do not allow her to listen to any secular music- listening to any rock or even pop music is banned in their home. Narrating to the Entertainment Weekly, Perry states “"The only things I was allowed to listen to were the Sister Act 1 and 2 soundtracks." (Biograpgy.com, n.p). This is also because at both of her parents are pastors.
