Katniss the main character from the novel the Hunger Games lives in the nation of Panem. Panem is divided into 12 districts and their capital. Katniss lives in the twelfth district. Every year each district randomly chooses one boy and one girl from each district from the ages 12-18. The games are broadcasted on television throughout Panem. All 24 participants have to eliminate each other in the games while the citizens of Panem are forced to watch. Katniss’ 12 year old sister, Prim is selected to be district twelve’s female participant for the hunger games, but then Katniss volunteers to take her place. The male chosen to compete for district twelve was Peeta, a baker’s son. Katniss and Peeta battle against people who have trained
