But even in the areana the in Catching Fire her and Peeta could have left the Morphling to die alone in the jungle or left Wiress to die because she was in shock. Instead she helps them to safety or tries to protect them, these actions are what defines her. What is common to all these situation is that she is never really given time to think much about if its in her best interest or not. If she took on the Capitol it was only to deny them the satisfaction of making her and Peeta kill eachother. Did she save Peeta? Yes to an extent because is there every anyone who escapes the games? No as Hammitch said once you get on the train you are on it for life. Every year you are dragged back out to train the next kids to be brought to the slaughter. Was she the girl who risked it all for love? No while yes she is a young girl who is conflicted over her feelings for Peeta and Gale is it safe to say at that time that she loved Peeta, no.
