Heros come in all shapes and sizes however, every hero story follows the same story pattern, which is the case for Gilgamesh and Katniss Everdeen. Both stories are about our hero going on a journey someone that they care about and both in the end come out as new people. While Gilgamesh and Katniss may of gone on completely different journey’s they both follow the same patterned and have many things that are similar to each other.
During The Hunger Games our protagonist Katniss Everdeen’s little sister Primrose gets called during the annual reaping of the Hunger Games, Katniss knowing her sister will get killed if she goes into the Games, volunteers as tribute for her sister. Just like Gilgamesh Katniss got her call to adventure when something happens to someone they care deeply about. Gilgamesh meets Utnapishtim who tells Gilgamesh how to get eternal live after being the only man to escape the floods, preserving human and animal life, and becoming a god. After Katniss was able to save Peeta and kill Cato from district two Peeta and her were both going to eat poison berries, Caesar Flickerman takes it upon himself to save the two, so they were both able to return home to tell their stories, since being the winners of the 74th Hunger Games they were treated like God’s getting new clothes, food, and now becoming rich and famous. After Gilgamesh found the flower of youth he returns being give respect and new clothes he shall remain new until he returns home, having his story be told, and him being remembered just like
