Katherine Johnson's Short Story

Katherine Johnson was just begining to start working with the white men in the flight reasearch devision when she had to use the bathroom. So she took her work and headed straight out the door and as she did she hoped that there was a bathroom near by. She looked everywhere for a colored bathroom and couldn’t find one. She then stopped in the middle of the hallway to catch her breath. As she did so she spotted two white woman laughing and giggling coming from a bathroom. Inside that bathroom was clean white towels hanging from a rack shinier than a whistle. There was a fresh cinnamin roll smell coming straight from the bathroom and there was bright beautiful lights that let off a light like the sun. “It seems like we are having the same issue. I too have to travel a long ways to get to a colored bathroom.” Katherine said as she thought of talking to her supervisour about the bathroom situation.
“ What makes the issue worst is that when we do get down here we get no paper towels, barely any soap ,and dark ,faded lighting.” Replied Mary as she felt a bit of anger rise. “I’d better be going back now before I get in trouble. It was nice talking to you. Hope you have a blessed day.” Katherine said as she turned to walk back to work.
On the way she stopped by the all white bathroom. “Mabye I should just take a peak” She whispered to herself. As she walked into the bathroom a gust of cool air hit her. She walked over to the towel rack and felt the towels. She then picked up one of the most softest towels she had ever felt in her life and wiped her hand on it to get rid of the sweat. Just then her boss walks in. She could see the anger in her eyes. Before she could even explain herself he yelled,” Where in the world have you
