I am Katherine Forness, but everyone calls me Kate for short. I am an undergraduate sophomore here at Indiana State University. I am a Health Science major with a dual concentration in both health administration and public health. I am minoring in business administration. I am also enrolled in the honors program.
I am a daughter and a sister. I come from a pretty “traditional” Catholic family. I have two supportive parents. Unfortunately, they are currently going through some health issues right now, but things are looking much better. Not too long ago they celebrated their twenty-seventh wedding anniversary. I grew up in a small town called Riverton, IL. It is right outside of Springfield (aka: the capital of Illinois). It is about two and a half to three hours away. Just picture corn fields and that is it. I went to my local public school (go Riverton Hawks!). I have always taken my education seriously. It’s important to me. I hold myself to a very high standards. However, school has been a challenge for me. I have a working memory learning disability and I am dyslexic. I had to learn in grade school how to become my own advocate and how to teach myself. Since, then I have thrived and gotten myself to where I am now. It took a lot of hard work.
