With Kate forcing Jenny to let her into the Weinman's house while they are away is impolite. Kate stated, “Come on, Jen,” “Let us in.” (Cabot,33) Soon after Kate barges through the door. Jenny has now realized she should have opened the door in the first place. Kate also stated, “I keep telling her she’s never going to make it through ninth grade.” (Cabot, 35) Jenny has learned she shouldn’t listen to people and not pay attention to what others think. Kate was being rude when she begged Jenny to let her into the Weinman's house and when she told Jenny she wouldn’t make it through ninth grade. Jenny has to learn to stand up for herself and she doesn't need Kate to tell her what to do.
Throughout my life, people have proved they shouldn’t be in control of me. Many people have told me to change myself. Why would you want to change yourself to be someone you're not. I have learned not to listen to others opinions and to be myself. Some people also tell me to do their job when they are told to do it. When someone tells another to do something they ‘force’ me to do it when it’s not my responsibility. I have learned some people can be more controlling with other, but you have to deal with it
