“The Story of an Hour”:
Freedom that comes in an Hour and then gets away FREEDOM- the word that everyone wants in their life. This is the word that the author was looking for. Kate Chopin, the author for novels and short stories from 19th century, was one of them who was seeking for her freedom in that era. In the word web dictionary “Freedom” defines “think without externally imposed restraints”. One sources points out that, Kate Chopin from childhood has struggled for her freedom, also when she grew up she started writing novels and short stories. Mainly her stories are on freedom or how the women were living their lives (“Kate”).

At first the writer persuades that Mrs. Mallard is having a “heart trouble” (Koloski). The reader can assume that starting of the story is emotional by describing Mrs. Mallard sickness. One day Josephine got the news to Mrs. Mallard about her spouse’s death in a rail road cause. Hearing this news, Mrs. Mallard’s world turns upside down. She cried a lot as a normal woman should. Then after, she ran to her room upstairs and shuts the door. Listening to the news of her husband death made her worry about living and how to feed children, where to earn money and all that. Although she had grief of her husband’s death, in her room she stared out of the window “open square” of the yard and the long trees having their new leaf on the branch (Koloski) and the birds twittering. The change behind the leaf is due to the spring season. Seeing all these environmental changes of spring season, she sat with her head tossed back upon pad of the seat very unmoving, aside from when a wail came up into her throat and shook
