As a kid, I loved to eat at fast food places; my favorite places were McDonald's, Wendy’s, Burger King. The Fast Food marketing strategies such as toys in happy meals and McDonald’s playhouses made children like me want their food. They targeted children for obvious reasons, if a child begs their parents to buy McDonald’s they would buy it, and most likely the parents would buy something too. You cannot go one mile without finding a fast food restaurant nearby or an Ad for a Fast Food restaurant. Making it inevitable to avoid fast food.…
1. I believe the depiction of non-Jewish Poles in the book is negative. The caricature chosen to depict the Poles was the pig, a disorderly and dirty animal. The non-Jewish Polish governess stated, “It’s those Nazis stirring everybody up.” Anja replied, “When it comes to Jews, the Poles don’t need much stirring up!”(I/37).…
Eating is part of an organism’s life. Everything that lives and breathes in some way has to take in nutrition through the food they eat. Food and eating food is a necessary fact of life because everything needs to be sustained, and that is how organisms were made to gain those nutrients. Eating began as a necessary survival tool, however as people and populations have grown, shifted, moved, and changed people have begun eating in family settings all around the dinner table as more of a social event than purely for survival. As time progressed, more and more families began to have both parents working.…
Summer Assignment Introduction: Eric Schlosser wrote the book titled Fast Food Nation with the purpose of trying to inform the readers about the dangers and some background knowledge of fast food while still performing this act in the form of ethos. BIOETHICS IN JUDAISM I was raised by a Jewish stepfather for some it’s weird to hear that since Jews don’t get marry to divorce woman since the link of marriage is never broken according to Jewish law (Rich, 1996-2011). Moreover, I always ask question about everything and I often asked him that if I could have surgery, tattoo, or get a pierce just for him to react angry saying that my body is not mine but is Gods temple so I never even search online why not?. My major is biology because I want to become a doctor and in my eyes surgery are just that a simple surgery for people to feel young, beautiful, and feel better about themselves.…
I agree with the author, Eric Schlosser’ he claims that he presented to us in the book, Fast Food Nation in the chapter “Cogs in The Great Machine”. Schlosser presents us with the ways how the fast food nation has changed the communities around us. In this essay, I will talk about the changes of our community, Obesity in children and adults, Slaughterhouses, a liability of workers, the truth behind fast food, why people like fast food, advice to people who love fast food. This all connects and circles back to the communities. The reason I chose these topics is to help to understand how it’s not a healthy lifestyle or a healthy community, and how it can ruin lives.…
What Was True About the Hebrews? The biblical tale of Hebrews reveals many things about them, but how true is it? The evidence behind the Hebrews’ origins, power, and religion prove the Bible to be true. I chose to follow a Jewish diet for the day. I chose this diet because I have many friends that are Jewish and I wanted to understand more about their culture, especially their dietary restrictions. I had to follow several dietary rules that I had to follow for the day. The main rule for Jewish diets is that the food must be Kosher. Some examples of non-kosher foods are mammals without a completely cloven foot which means that Jews muse not eat any pig products or rabbits.…

An awful war in the whole world was World War II, a large group of people died and a minor part of other people survive. People should ask, what big part of those people who died are? Well, that large group of people was jews, people with disabilities and homosexuals. Back in those days were the World War II was going to start, Adolf Hitler (the person most known as a dictator with vitriolic), decide to start getting all the jewels and sending them to concentration camps, he had a large group of troopers who were in charge of sending jews to concentration camps. One of the restrictions placed on Jews was " that in their synagogues the Jews, one and all should worship in subdued tones according to their rite,so that the Christians will not hear it". I am completely disagree with this restriction as a reason that everyone one no matter their religion, should worship in any place their god. Everyone is free to worship their god in whatever tone they want to. In the same way that Christians worship their god and praise their god, Jews and any other religion should have the same right. Another restriction placed on Jews was " We have ordained and decreed for us and our heirs that no Jews should have a freehold in any manors, lands, tenements, fees, rents, and holdings by charter, gifts,…
I’m more likely to visit a traditional restaurant because of the healthier benefits of the food. I don’t like eating fast-food due the unhealthy aspect. Likewise, I grew up with home cooked food and eating out wasn’t a frequent occurrence. Though, when eating out, we went to more family owned business, but we would sometime choose more of a McDonalized restaurant because we didn’t have time for the traditional restaurant. My family grew up on home cooked meals because that was the only time we had to talk and be a family due to all our busy lifestyles.…
