You really made your discussion to the point and easy to understand the situation. It can be quite complicated when it comes to ethical and legal dilemmas. As of right now, I do not have much experience in the Social Work field and understanding the Code of Ethics. I work for an early intervention agency and although we do not work directly with Children, Youth and Families Department, we are still required to report suspicious child abuse and neglect. Although my work policy is a little different, in order to avoid any bias we are required to report child abuse prior to discussing it with a supervisor or anyone else above my position. Reason being so there is no conflict of interest and unfair judgment to the families we work with.
