Karts Narrative

I remember the first time I was able to drive a kart at Boomers. I remember pointing out the empty parking spot in the sea of cars. After we parked the 2009 sky blue Chevy Equinox we strolled towards the entrance. As we moved closer to the sounds of loud engines and kids screaming we made it to the outside attractions. My nephew and I was just tall enough to ride the karts. I had to carefully choose which kart I would drive. My nephew jumped in the first kart he saw. The kart was a forest green kart with a midnight black seat. My older brother chose the dark charcoal kart with a golden yellow seat. As I walked, and looked at the karts I saw the kart , or rather it saw me. The kart was a creamy white with a rose red seat. My foot rested on the sliver brakes. My ears heard the engines of the karts . My nose smelt the gases that came from the exhausts. My eyes looked and waited for the light to turn green. …show more content…
I was in 5th place when the race started with my nephew just behind me. I slowed down, and drifted onto the left shoulder, and allowed him to pass. He was going to fast to turn, and his lime green kart spun out. As I passed him two lavender karts had crashed into each other. There was only two karts ahead of me a banana yellow kart, and my brother's kart . I knew that the bright yellow double seated kart would need more space to turn. When the turn came my eggshell white kart clashed with the railing giving me just enough space to pass the yellow kart. There was no way around my brother's sleek black kart. I was catching up fast, but not fast enough. Close but no cigar I heard him say over the roaring engines. The race was over, and I came in second. Even through I didn't win I will still remember first time I was able to drive a kart at Boomers

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

These lifelong memories are formed every day for both children and parents alike at our trike park. Some of our more fortunate guests may be able to recall a memory like this as either a child themselves, or as a parent or grandparent watching the joy in the face of their family member as they rounded every curve with the enthusiasm to ride for hours. However, due to the current state of the trike park, this opportunity is one that we are unable to share with everyone.…

You see, my first swerve was in my early, early ages, back when Dora was your main explorer. I owned the hottest ride on the block, my Barbie Jeep. The Barbie Jeep was a present from my mom on my birthday.…

The time I have spent with him will forever remain with me.…

It had already been determined for me that I was going to race motocross before I was born. Although my family has since moved on from racing, it had been everything for as long as I can remember. I clearly remember the loud and hectic Friday nights and the chaotic Sunday mornings spent at the track. The dedication we, my two brothers and I, had towards the extreme sport and the dedication our parents showed towards our passion will forever be apart of me. By the time I was born, my family had already tried many various forms of racing: BMX, snowcross, or snowmobiles, four wheelers, and dirt bikes.…

I looked up to my left and saw a guard rail with a river behind it, the car was heading towards it. My sister took control of the wheel and steered us the best she could towards the ditch. It was all green everywhere as the rear of the car hit the ditch first and spun us around, sending the front hitting the ditch as well. We spun around one more time, completing two 360’s. It might have been the wrong thought, but I was thinking about the airbags deploying at top speed, knocking us in the face, and injuring…
