Communism ‘Marx’ the Spot
Karl Marx is a well-recognized and major contributor to the field of philosophy. His most renowned work of literature is the Manifesto of the Communist Party. In the passage, Marx explains that throughout history every society was subject to a struggle between two classes. Furthermore he states that there is always a continuous “fight” between the classes, as each is either labelled the oppressor or the oppressed. Finally Marx describes the fate of the society, resulting in either a revolution and new society as a whole or the downfall of the contesting classes. Karl Marx describes the two classes of society to be the Bourgeoise, who are the capitalists, and Proletariat, who are the working class. Due to the capitalist ideology that the working class can reach a higher standard of living through hard work, they continue selling their work as a commodity and in turn fall victim to alienation. The fruits of their labour become a service to the capitalists, thereby losing meaning. Only with the realization of their exploitment can the working class revolt and establish a socialist government, thus achieving Marx’s end goal of a communist society. …show more content…
