Hall of Fame basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is NBA’s all-time leading scorer. He has won 6 NBA titles and 6 League MVP’s. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has done many remarkable things. He played in the NBA, had many different accomplishments, did many things after retirement, and much more.

Some of the things that made Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who he is today is from his childhood. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born on April 16, 1947. His birth name was Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. When he was young he stood out from everyone on the basketball court. Kareem was 5’8” when he was just 9 years old. Kareem’s dad was a very strict parent. Whenever Kareem got in trouble everyone thought it made him just keep growing. When Kareem was in 8th grade he stood at 6’8” and could dunk. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was very dominant in high school so he was recruited by many different colleges. …show more content…
Kareem had chosen to go to UCLA for a college. They were the best team in the league in 1965-1966. Kareem averaged a total of 33 points and 21 rebounds in only his first year of college. Even though he was the best player in college basketball he still went to four years of college. Through his senior year of college the teams in the NBA started watching him more and were impressed.
