A World Without the Kardashians- a better place People love to hate the Kardashians. Their ridiculous antics grab people’s attention. Their opulent lifestyles leave people feeling both disgust and awe. The faces of the Kardashian clan, disfigured by plastic surgery and caked in makeup, grace the covers of countless magazines. To many people, the name ‘Kardashian’ is a synonym for ‘guilty pleasure’. Each day, the Kardashian brand becomes more and more successful. Their fame has skyrocketed, and people around the world know their name. If the Kardashians suddenly disappeared, what would the world be like? If they disappeared, my world, America, and the entire world would change for the better.

A major problem in the modern world is the issue of unrealistic body image expectations for women. The faces and bodies of the Kardashian clan are unnaturally perfect. This gives women and girls unrealistic ideas about body image. The only reason that the Kardashians look perfect is because an army of makeup artists conceal their imperfections, and both photoshopping and expert plastic surgeons alter their bodies. However, many women and girls do not realize this and expect to naturally be able to achieve physical perfection. Their efforts to achieve physical perfection can have dire consequences, such as eating disorders and low self esteem. Eating disorders destroy countless women and girl’s lives, and low self esteem causes people to live in a state of perpetual misery. If the Kardashians were gone, this would help diminish women and girls unrealistic ideas about body image. By helping diminish unrealistic ideals of body image, this would have a positive impact on many people’s lives. Women and girls would be able to accept and even embrace their physical imperfections, and their lives would not be plagued by eating disorders and low self esteem. They would spend less time striving to achieve physical perfection and more time living rich and rewarding lives. Instead of being locked up in a hospital ward for refusing to eat, or being trapped in a body that she hates, a girl could be doing something she loves, and have a healthy sense of self esteem and an understanding of her body’s limitations. In a world without the Kardashians, perhaps there would be no beauty standard. Perhaps, finally, everyone, no matter who they are, would be accepted for who they are as beautiful, and would not have to conform to society’s ideals of beauty.
