Kara And Her Brother: A Narrative Fiction

Kara and her brother stood, staring at the place the alarm clock had taken them. The land was a deep russet, and had fire almost everywhere. “Kara… Isn’t that what you have on your arm?” Jayden was pointing at a wall, the symbol pulsing and shining. She felt a strange attachment. She belonged here. She had to go towards it. Step, step, step, then, crash! A wall had shut behind her, separating her from her brother.
“Jayden?” She went on the tip of her toes, looking for some sign of his curly brown hair, or his obnoxious voice. Alas, there was none. “Welp, guess I am all alone…”
“KARA?! Can you hear me?” Jayden’s voice seemed to call. “Kara! Please hurry!” It called again. “No use, she probably can’t get through the maze anyways.” Maze? What

What am I?
Kara was whisked back to a time when she and her aunt were at a tea party. She had said the same riddle, but what was the answer? Once in a minute, twice in a moment, but none in a thousand? That makes no sense, unless… “M! The answer is M!” The glass case slid open to reveal the sword.
“Oh no she didn’t!” A demonic voice screeched. She barely had any time to register what it said before a hideous creature pounced. She flailed with the sword, hoping to strike whatever was attacking her. Sizzle. The blade made contact. Now filled with determination, she swung the sword once more. Again she made contact, this time shaving some scales off. “Oof!” The demon grunted as something was thrown at it. “What is this, yellow duck shaped thing?” He squeezed it, and it squeaked. “WHO DARES TRY TO CURSE THE ONE AND ONLY ___-DEMON?!”
“That would be me.” Kara looked up in astonishment as she saw her brother, holding a sack of yellow rubber duckies. She stood, and signaled for him to throw more. Then tried to smack

Foolish fool! You missed!” __-Demon sang, dancing a jig. In the middle of the dance, he slipped on a rubber ducky and lost his footing, twirling into the red hot lava pool below. Staring, Kara watched as the demon fell, then cringed as he slowly sunk in. Soon, Kara found her arms around her little brother, looking into his green eyes, she said to him.
“Don’t you dare throw anymore rubber duckies at demons ever again!”
“Well well well. You have managed to defeat my demon friend. But can you defeat the mighty ___DEMON!” Kara rolled her eyes at the demon, and sliced his flesh. “Ok. Too hard, into the lava I go.” ___-Demon jumped over the ledge and into the lava.
“Let’s find our aunt!” Kara said, enthusiasm dripping from her. She grabbed Jayden’s pale and ran, hoping to find something that could lead her to them. She saw another demon, an odd one at that, wearing clothes a maid would wear. “Excuse me, um, demon fried? Do you know where a female blond haired 50 year old is?” The demon snapped and another wall slid open, revealing her Aunt, drinking tea with…

In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley talks about a monster, who transforms from an innocent individual to an evil person at the end. The entire story revolves around the monster and his creator, who abandons the monster at the time of monster’s creation. Furthermore, the society rejects the monster and this rejection changes the harmless being to a harmful creature. Thus, Shelly comments on the idea of human nature being learned and not innate through her tale of the monster. I strongly believe Mary Shelley’s portrayal of the monster in the story depicts human transformation based on their experience in the society.…

The idea of an evil doll as a gateway for a pissed-off spirit to torment people has been used in movies such as “Child’s Play” and its “Chucky” sequels. In “Annabelle,” the creepy possessed doll from last year’s “The Conjuring” gets its own origin story. “The Conjuring” was known for its great cinematography done by John R. Leonetti, who directed “Annabelle.” Similar to “The Conjuring,” the two main characters, a young married couple, are followed by the cameras in order to give its audience the perspective of the actors.…

    Monster In Modern Day

    • 984 Words
    • 4 Pages

Huge hairy beasts that crave human flesh, demons from the underworld that prowl the dark corners of the universe, and unhuman-like creatures out for blood are the types of immortal beings the Anglo-Saxons believe monsters to be. To the Anglo-Saxons, a monster is the main source of evil that can ruin a person through its terror and rage. In modern day English, a monster is described as someone who has done evil and goes out of their way to terrorize the public. Although it is the same word, there can be many perceptions of what a “monster” truly is. A monster can be a person like you, who walks the earth and acts as normal and sweet as the next, but has evil plans underneath the surface.…

Their scanty one-room log cabin managed to accommodate seven people but at the cost of any kind of privacy. Tatyana, the mother and steadfast backbone of the family, would remind her children that their father built this cabin with his own hands and without him, they would have no home. The thunderous clanking of pots continued, and even caused the nearby Petrovs to stir, but half of the Kozlovsky children rolled over, indifferent to the commotion. Katya, the middle child of five siblings, grabbed her moth-eaten pillow and stuffed her head between the bed– a straw-covered plank of wood– and the feather down which smelled of mildew and…
