Greek Tragic Hero Essay According to Aristotle, he is a tragic hero who possesses a tragic flaw which ultimately causes his own demise. The literary model of a tragic hero can be applied to real people, such as Kanye West who would be a Greek tragic hero because he achieved high status. To begin, Kanye West was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and his move to Chicago began at the age of 3 when he moved with his mother, Donda West. This was caused by the divorce of his parents (Ray West was his father). He had difficulties following rules and was usually always in trouble. At 14 he got his 1st keyboard and, along with a few friends, formed a small band. He attended the college where his mother was a teacher after high school. After taking a break from college, he turned full-time into music after his mother kicked him out for it. …show more content…
Overall, Kanye West rose above his lower status youth to become what he is now. To continue, West’s life develops a Greek tragedy because he possesses the tragic flaw of hubris. In the Kanye documentary (Jeen-Yuhs) on Netflix, you'll see that he never gave up after trying to make it big as a solo artist instead of a producer.. He was involved in a car crash that required the insertion of wires into his face. This gave birth to the song Through The Wire also. On May 24, 2014, he eventually got married to Kim Kardashian. He soon became deeply devoted to Jesus and even made a whole album dedicated to him. In 2020, the world saw Kim file for divorce and his mother passed away. And soon enough, he "lost his mind" and concluded that being controversial is the only option. Since then, he has made other crazy and outrageous
