In stating that it is a science Kant understands metaphysics is a complete failure, because there is no empirical evidence available through human cognition to prove without a doubt any type of metaphysical claim about space and time. In the second book of Gamma in Aristotle’s The Metaphysics he goes on to say, “This science concerns itself with both substances and their properties…” (pg. 85 The Metaphysics). The emergence of just this statement illustrates exactly how influential metaphysician are throughout history making sure it is always seen as a science.
