The Bears were weak at the wide receiver position, and quarterback Jay Cutler had missed half of the games already this year due to injury. The defense was suspect and the offense even more so. The Kansas City faithful could only assume this would be the perfect prescription for what ailed the Chiefs, putting their season back on course. It was not to be.

Kansas City had a pair of 7 play drives; totally just under 100 yards between the two of them – so good field position benefited the Chief’s cause. The Chiefs offense would take their third drive another 57 yards finishing with a field goal to take a 2-touchdown lead into the locker room.
To start the second half it seemed Kansas City was going to take advantage of a weak Bears team after all, as they drove another 13 plays, controlling the 3rd quarter clock. But, that is when the tide of momentum would shift. A short 27-yard field goal try was blocked by the Bears defense and the mojo shifted almost as abruptly as it seemed the Chiefs had taken control of the game.
Chicago would chip away slowly at the 2 TD Kansas City lead. A 3rd quarter drive resulted a 30 yard Robbie Gould field goal and the lead was cut to 11.
